i’m back, kind of…

Some of you may not know that I’m no longer located in D.C. The place we now call home is in Pleasant Prairie, WI (many just refer to it as Kenosha). What a change from the big, busy cities of Maryland/D.C. It’s been a pleasant change though, and we’re really enjoying our new residence.

We moved this summer, and the process of moving and the projects involved with purchasing our home have made it diifficult to start over with my photography business. So I decided to just take it easy this summer and then decide where to go from there. That’s not to say my business has been completely stagnant; it’s just that I haven’t actually been doing photography (professionally, that is). Instead I’ve had a few web design jobs that have kept me busy in my spare time.

I’ve got a few new ideas up my sleeve, but it’s going to take a while to get all the details worked out. Let’s just I’m looking to add some teenagers to my clientele. In the meantime, over the next few days I’ll post about the last sessions I did right before we headed west.

spring has sprung…at last

Finally, it’s starting to warm up around these parts. An added bonus was that I got to take advantage of the spring changes with the S Family. How lucky I was to work with such a gorgeous family! Miss T, the sweet baby, was quite a cutey and reminded me of a porcelain doll. She wasn’t too interested in my presence, but I managed to squeeze a few charming expressions from her. Miss T and her family were an absolute joy, and that definitely shows through in the pictures.

is it in the water?

I had a 2nd newborn shoot the day after the one I just posted about. It seems like there are babies everywhere. I just sent off two more baby gifts the other day as well. No complaints from me though because I love to be around all these new babies. So sweet!

Baby A. was a precious, little thing. Her disposition could melt your heart, and that tiny mouth about did me in.

I just love the connection between mama and baby here.

Stay tuned because I’ve got some changes in store. If you can’t wait, then check out the pricing page on my main website

baby c.c.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this little beauty. And, all that hair! The C family is really blessed, and so was I to get this opportunity. You may remember her mama as a mama-to-be here.

I don’t know why, but I got a kick out of this picture. It almost looks like she is smirking at me.

The use of this bonnet had some sentimental significance. Apparently, Mama C. wore it home from the hospital when she was a wee one. Her little bundle also wore it home from the hospital. Mama C. also carried it on her wedding day. I know, I know, it almost brought tears to my eyes as well. And look how happy the baby looks to be carrying on the tradition.
