I’d like to continue my trip down memory lane, for the month of November that is. November was the busiest month for me with about 6 photo shoots. It was a ton of work, but I loved every minute of it.

We’ll start with this bundle of sunshine, C. After this photo shoot I asked his mother if I could adopt him. I was seriously smitten with him. C. was very easy to coax a smile from and didn’t mind us switching his outfit every few minutes. I couldn’t have asked for a better client especially of the age that is usually so unpredictable.

Next up was miracle baby E. His parents have waited so long for his arrival, and I was very honored to be part of capturing some of his first moments. We got off to a rocky start, but E. eventually settled into a nice slumber making it possible for us to get some wonderful images. What a cutie!

This was symbolic of E.’s parents’ faith that they would some day have him. I thought it turned out so lovely.

Just one more shoot for November, and it was a fun one to end the month. This couple was full of such joy and excitment. Everyone that has seen these pictures comments on how happy the mommy-to-be looks. I couldn’t agree more. And, Konrad, dachshund extraordinaire, had such a style about him. In case you’re wondering, these pictures were all taken at the National Arboretum. It’s a wonderful place to visit, and FREE.

Last, but not least, I couldn’t resist sharing this with you. Doesn’t it make you want one?

sweet spirit

This blog is only a few days old, but I’ve been at this photography thing for quite some time. Things have slowed down around here now that the holidays are over. So I’ve decided to go back and post about my sessions since November. I’ve met many wonderful new families lately, and I just can’t resist letting you get to know them a little bit, too.

Meet N…

This little girl has the sweetest personality and was so full of energy. She and I immediately hit it off, but N. wasn’t about to make my job easy. As soon as I got my camera out she was off and running. That smile never left her face though, so it wasn’t too difficult to capture lots of fun shots. Her mom seemed skeptical that anything would turn out since N. never once stopped moving around. Each time I’ve met up with N. and her family since the photo shoot, her mom gets the biggest kick out of how N. remembers me so fondly. What an absolute doll! {You may be wondering why I’m only showing black and white photos of N. It was a special request of mom’s, and I was happy to oblige.}

Now for something completely different…maternity, and one of my first (or third). These parent-to-be have so much love for each other and for the baby that will one day be part of their lives. It was infectious. I immediately went home and announced that it was time for a third. Kidding, kidding!

The couple was up for trying some different stuff, and I only got two or three hesitant glances {ahem, see picture below with Greta the hound dog}.  I surprised K, the mommy-to-be, with the cupcakes, but she was definitely willing to devour them in my presence.  Can you tell we had fun?

Okay, one more. I met up with the T. family on the weekend after Thanksgiving. M, that cute toddler, was as cute as could be but tired me out. I swear he took one look at me and figured I needed a good workout after the big feast because he kept me moving the whole time. The T’s have such a beautiful family. I felt honored to be able to document this time in their lives.

Stay tuned! I’ve got more to share, probably within a day or two.

great gifts

Looky here! Snappy has some new products in the works. Let’s first talk about the 5×7 accordion album which holds 14-4×6 prints from your session and comes with its own satin-lined box. Pictures are mounted on both sides of album making for a wonderful display around the home. I will work with you to choose a color scheme and such. If you’re having a hard time thinking of gift ideas for the grandparents, then this is definitely a way to wow them.

Don’t worry, I’ve got a sample for those of you who have boys!

Calendars!! Another unique item I’ll be offering in 2008. Choose 12 of your favorite session images, and I will put together your custom calendar. Each month will be displayed on a 5×7 photo and comes with the frame shown (or similar). No need to be concerned about ordering a calendar in July and only getting half of a year. I will customize the months based on your session date. If you have a session in April 2008, then your calendar will be dated from May 2008 to April 2009.

it seemed like the right thing to do

Snappy Chic Designs now has a blog! This is a way to keep everyone as up to date as possible on the new and fun things happening with Snappy Chic Designs. I’m not able to update my official photography website as easily or as often, but I’ve had clients ask me when they’ll get to be on my website. Now I’m able to quickly give them a taste of what’s to come. It will also be nice to feature clients and their sessions here which gives it a more a personal touch than just having their pictures in my galleries.

Make sure to check in often for special offers and sneak peeks of recent photo sessions. I’ve got a lot planned for 2008, and I will probably post about the latest news here before the official site. So keep checking in!
